Spring Science Camp 2017

Our popular nature and science spring day camp is back again this year! We are offering 5 fun-filled days of camp for children between the ages of 6-10 years, from Monday, April 17th – Friday, April 21st. Each day has a different environmental theme with exciting activities taking place in and around the Interpretation Centre. Children may enroll for one, two, three, four, or all five days.

*Child(ren) must be between the ages of 6-10 as of April 21st, 2017.

To register your child, please fully complete all sections of the registration form below, including medical and payment information. Registration will open Tuesday, March 21st, and will close at 12pm on Thursday, April 13th, before camp starts. You may register in person, here at the Centre, or you can download the forms below and either scan and email them to education@manuelsriver.com, or you may return them to us at our front desk. Registration will be considered complete once we have received both payment/credit card information and all completed forms, and we have confirmed with you that there are available spots in your chosen day(s).

If your child has serious allergies we request a completed Anaphylaxis Emergency Plan to be filled out and passed in with registration forms.

Schedule: Camp activities run from 9 am to 4 pm. Children may be dropped off as early as 8:45 am and picked up no later than 4:15 pm for no extra charge.

Camp fees for non-members: $35+HST per day per child  = $40.25, or $175+HST per child for all five days = $201.25

Camp fees for members (10% discount): $31.50+HST per day per child  = $36.23, or $157.50+HST per child for all five days = $181.13

Please note that Camp fees are non-refundable, exceptions will only be made in the event extenuating circumstances.

MRe Nalcor Summer Camp 2016!

Our popular environmental science summer day camp, generously sponsored by Nalcor Energy, is back again this year! Due to the high demand for the limited spaces in each camp, we have added an additional week this summer! We are offering 9 week-long day camps for children between the ages of 6-8 and 9-11* during the months of July and August. Each day has a different environmental theme and will be full of fun activities that will take place in and around the Interpretation Centre. Children must enroll for the full week of camp. *Child must be between the ages of 6-8 and 9-11 as of August 31, 2016.

Registration will open Saturday, April 30, here at the Centre, from 12pm-5pm. For 1 day only we will have a Camp Registration Blitz, where you can fill out your form, pay camp fees, ask questions, and have your best chance at securing your chosen week(s) for your child(ren).

After Saturday, April 30, if there are any remaining spaces, you can download the forms below and either scan and email them to education@manuelsriver.com, or you may return them to us in person at our front desk.  Registration will be considered complete once we have received both payment/credit card information and all completed forms, and we have confirmed with you that there are available spots in your chosen week(s).

Visiting Summer Camps

If you are a Summer Camp wanting to visit MRe please call (709)834-2099 or email education@manuelsriver.com and book an time slot! We can accommodate camp groups Monday – Friday 9:30 am – 5:00 pm, July and August. Our visiting summer camps participate in a 1/2 day program which can include (activities subject to weather, participant age, and time allotted):

  • A guided hike to our fossil site
  • Outdoor games and activities
  • Wacky science experiments
  • Geocaching and treasure hunts
  • A visit to our exhibits
  • A science related film in our theater

There is a $50.00 +HST non-refundable deposit for all visiting camp groups that will be applied to the total on the day of. Once the deposit has been paid the time slot is booked. For a 1/2 day program the cost is $5.50 +HST /participant and the full day program is $8.50 +HST/participant.
