Master Plan for Manuels River Trails

Manuels River Natural Heritage Society has received funding from the federal and provincial governments to develop a master plan for the Manuels River Trails. We have contracted Tract Consulting Inc. to help us.

We want input from members, donors, volunteers, local residents and businesses, trail users, other stakeholders and the general public in order to develop the best possible master plan.

The Trail Master Plan will recommend how to upgrade the existing trail and extend and develop new sections of the trail. The comprehensive plan will take into account the needs and wishes of current and future trail users and will include trail construction and maintenance standards, signage and safety considerations. It will include cost estimates and set appropriate phases for trail upgrading and development.

This project will continue throughout the fall of 2015 and we expect to have a Trail Master Plan finalized by March 2016.

A public consultation session was held on November 3rd and this survey and public comment period closed Dec. 4th.

The concepts for the trails master plan were publicly presented January 14th 2016 and these panels describing trail updates and additions can be viewed in the front lobby at Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre for the week of January 18th to 24th. Comment sheets are available so please drop by and leave us your thoughts.
