Saturday, June 17, 9:30am-5pm: Gift Store – Father’s Day Sale. Get a 20% discount on all in-stock men’s grooming products and books. Members can present their membership card for an additional 10% off at time of purchase!

 

Sunday, June 18, 1-3pm: Digging with Dad. Celebrate Father’s Day and Garden Days: Canada’s Annual Celebration of Gardens and Gardening. Bring Dad and learn about soils and gardening. Wednesday, June 21, 2pm: Canada 150 Celebration Garden Bloom Ceremony. Manuels River has one of 150 Celebration Gardens across Canada. We planted 1000 tulip bulbs last fall. Come see the Celebration Garden in bloom! RSVP to jillian.whittle@manuelsriver.com by Friday, June 16.

 

Sunday, June 25, 8am: Canada 150 Celebrations – Bird Hike with Laura King. See and hear bird species that make Manuels River their home. No pre-registration required. Hikes are free, donations gratefully accepted.

Monday, June 26, 2pm: Canada 150 Celebrations – Cultural History Hike. Upstream walk with interpreter Eleanor Power to learn about 200 years of human history on Manuels River. No pre-registration required. Hikes are free, donations gratefully accepted.

 

Monday, June 26, 7pm: Canadian Trivia Night. Adults 19+ grab some friends and show us how much you know about Canada! We’ll rack your brains with 150 questions about science, sports, music & more! Tickets $10+HST, snacks provided. Prizes! Cash bar available, ID required.

 

Tuesday, June 27, 10am: Canada 150 Celebrations – Botany Hike with Cynthia Brown. Examine and identify plants along the shores of Manuels River. No pre-registration required. Hikes are free, donations gratefully accepted.

 

Tuesday, June 27, 7pm: Paint & Pinot with Bobbi Pike. Create your very own painting of an Inukshuk. Reservations must be made in advance by June 26. See June 4 item for cost, age, and registration information.

 

Wednesday, June 28, 12:30pm: Coffee & Canvas with Bobbi Pike. Learn to paint like a pro & create your own painting of an Inukshuk.  Admission $35+HST, reservations must be made in advance by June 27. Call 834-2099 ext.206 for details and to reserve your spot. Space is limited.

 

Wednesday, June 28, 2pm: Canada 150 Celebrations – Upstream Geology Hike with Dr. Jeremy Hall. Learn about volcanic origins of the area and volcanic rocks on Manuels River. No preregistration required. Hikes are free, donations gratefully accepted.

 

Thursday, June 29, 10:30am: Canada 150 Celebrations – Wetlands Hike with Emma Bocking & Danielle Fequet (Ducks Unlimited): Hike downstream and learn about the biological and ecological importance of the Manuels River wetlands. No preregistration required. Hikes are free, donations gratefully accepted.

 

Thursday, June 29, 7pm: Dinner & A Movie. Canadian themed Dinner & A Movie event! Enjoy a night out with a three-course dinner by Coffee Matters followed by a movie in our Theatre. Thursday, June 29, 7pm: Canadian Campfire Sing-Along. First campfire of the season! Enjoy a family sing-along and marshmallow roast by the upstream gazebo on Manuels River. Admission is free, all ages welcome.

 

Friday, June 30, 10am: Canada 150 Celebrations – Paleontology Hike with Dr. Rod Taylor. Hike downstream to Manuels River’s main fossil bed and learn about what swam in the sea that covered this area more than 500 million years ago. No preregistration required. Hikes are free, donations gratefully accepted.

 

Friday, June 30, 1-3pm / Saturday, July 1, 10:30am-12:30pm: Young Scientist – Canadian Innovators. No pre-registration required. Parent or guardian must attend with children. $7/person or free for members. Facebook Event Page
